Flower Box Boro Bracelet

There are so many beautiful things I love about the way Boro glass folds into itself. What I love most is how you can take any bead from any strand and put them together, making this gorgeous arrangement. Just like you'd see on the outside of a little cafe in a small town, where the flower boxes bloom and begin to fall down the side showing off their glory. I love that about boro beads. Each one is it's own castle, it's one private island, it's own joy...

Lately I've been working on my own branding. In the eight years I've been designing jewelry and melting my own glass, I have tried to incorporate my own look as well as a look that would be pleasing to others. As time passed, things I created became more about what other people liked and not what I found to be "home" to me. Don't get me wrong, I love what I do, but I also love the art of making it my own and from me.

This bracelet is just that. It is my style. It is easy and without a lot of flair...yet the colors are bright and cheerful and sunny, everything I like and try to see in myself. I am not always the brightest, cheerfullest or sunniest, but in my heart that's what I strive to be. Happy. When life gives you lemons do your darndest to make some {pink} lemonade, and be sure to leave a day (or two) in there for complaining and grumbling... lol But in the end, come out with a smile and be happy for the space you share with those you love.

I hope you love this piece. You don't have to have the wooden bead on there if you don't like it... it's up to you. It's just something I wanted to add...the meaning behind it? That we are rough until the Lord comes into our lives and makes us bright, cheerful and sunny.

I've decided to begin making what I'll call "Flower Box" bracelets, where the beads will be mis-matched but complimentary to each other and have thick 18 gauge connections.  You can pick out your charm, or maybe add a fairy, a bumble bee, or maybe a word you love... like dream, strength or maybe something as simple as a hand-stamped love charm.

There are endless possibilities, but for this first bracelet, I thought I'd put a whimsical flower charm that's been oxidized. There's also jasper discs and a wood bead too...

Every bracelet will have all the colors of the rainbow, unless of course you ask for a specific color scheme.

The sterling has all been oxidized so it will keep that rich, dark look and won't need to be cleaned very often. Oh, I almost forgot... ::giggles:: just for some girlie flair, I added three tiny crystals along with my byLGD tag. Love love!

Note: If your wrist is an average size, the S-clasp will be smaller so that I won't have to remove beads...just wanted to make you aware of the change.

Here are two Flower Box bracelets that have their own style. The above has a mermaid charm (inset) along with an ocean color scheme, in blues and greens. Below, the same flower charm used in the original, but a request for purples, blues and greens in the boro's. Both are gorgeous and you'll see that they're too far off from the original design.
