There's a lot of change going on in our home right now, and some of it's exciting and some is the regular change that's to be expected at the end of Summer: going back to school. The house will return to a quiet place during the day and craziness will commence around 3pm or so. lol I'm looking forward to this particular change! Don't get me wrong, I love having the kids at me all day long during the Summer, but I just don't get much done. :)
Another change in our household is my Jeff is going back to college. He already has a Bachelor's degree but he's going to build on what he has and get a teaching degree. I think it will be really exciting! The entire process will take roughly two years and since there's a light at the end of the tunnel, I think I can hang on. lol I would love life to have a little less stress, you know what I mean? I know you do. :)
But in the world of fashion there's a big change going on, or is it that all things roll around again from days gone by? Maybe a mixture of both? The other night we were watching the old eighties movie, The Boy Who Could Fly (a movie I actually saw in the theater). The kids asked why "everyone's clothing is so big on them?" lol Made me laugh because I guess that was the style back then, no? Big balloony cable-knit sweaters with V-neck fronts that you wore backwards and of course they came in every color under the Sun. lol Hilarious. I'm so glad that particular fashion isn't coming back, however I did see some leggings with zippers (gasp!) at Target the other day and got a twinge of fear that it all might be coming this way again soon. Yikers! No! Say it ain't so! :)
But in this world of fashion, we're mixing medias and I am in love with it. I've always liked the more earthy look and less frill, so I guess this change is one I am happy to see. I love how the solid copper plays off the brass and some parts shiny and some oxidized with that aged look. Totoally cool. I love mixing gemstones with lampwork (I've actually always done this) and how crystal sparkles when nestled with the matte wooden beads. It's all good baby. It's all good.
And then there's the whole wool thing going on. How cool is that? It's so simple yet so interesting when mixed with glass, the two wouldn't ordinarily be together and yet they look so awesome as they're learning to become such great fashion friends. :) I'm so there!
