Soft tanzanite crystal rondelles top these elegant and stylish earrings frit lampwork earrings.
Gals ask me all the time, "what is frit?" So I thought this would be the perfect time to explain what that is...it's basically chopped up glass. There are so many wonderful things you can do with frit too. I love it. This particular pair of earrings was made by putting a base of light ivory glass on my mandrel and making the simple bead shape, then I added silver foil and melted that in...after you melt in the silver you then roll your bead into a small amount of FRIT and slowly melt in the tiny chopped pieces that are on your bead. The frit combines with the silver foil, making a sandy look (that I adore) and you get an interesting pattern that can only come by using frit.
No two frit beads can be exactly the same and that's the beauty of it. They are so unique.
So there's your lesson today on Frit. :) I hope you love it. If you want to purchase the frit that I used for these beads, go HERE.
Aren't they lovely? And when you add Artisan-made ear wires and Bali paisley charms along with the pale tanzanite crystal? Well, you get beauty. I hope you love them.
