for several years i've been interested in PMC {precious metal clay} but i just never had the time to devote to a new artform like this.
first, what is pmc? it's basically sterling silver in clay form, and once you fire it in a kiln, it turns into what you see in the photo above. these, tiny flowers were first drawn by me on paper, then i digitize that photo in Adobe Photoshop and after it's complete i send it off to have it made into a stamp. once it arrives i make sure it will be perfect {and sadly, it usually takes me about five times to get it just perfect}. at that point i mold my piece and then press the stamp and finally, i fire it in my kiln at almost 1700 degrees to make sure it's ready. once it's fired i clean it, tumble it, clean it some more, then oxidize it and lastly i polish it to a high-mirror shine.
the end result is an adorable pair of earrings...each having their own personality as no two stampings are the same...which i love LOVE about this work.
more things will be coming in january, but i thought these would be a perfect start... ZuZu's petals. i hope you love them as much i as i do.

the earrings aren't quite 1.5" and are completely weightless. |
